Born in Warminster, Hope was a 2013 graduate of William Tennent High School, and worked as a team manager at a Sherwin-Williams paint store in Philadelphia, his obituary says

Hope had just married his wife Macy in May, and the pair were expecting a son together, wrote coworker Joseph Ruggiero in a GoFundMe campaign

With help from Hope's loved ones and members of the community, Ruggiero says he hopes the money will ease Macy's transition into single motherhood.

"I would like to raise money for Macy and their baby boy as she begins this journey as a mother raising her baby," he wrote. " I want to make sure she can provide him with love and care. As one can imagine, this is a very difficult time."

Only four days after going live, the GoFundMe campaign has raised nearly $20,000 of its $30,000 goal.

To loved ones, it's a comforting reminder of David Hope's many friends and well-wishers.

"Dave has touched a lot of hearts," Ruggiero wrote, "and I would love nothing more than to make sure his family is taken care of."

In his obituary, family members recalled Hope's quick sense of humor, his carefree personality, and his passion for music and Philly sports.

"Dave is deeply missed by all those who had the pleasure of knowing him, but we know he is at peace in heaven," his obituary reads
